Massage Services

Swedish Massage:

Long, gentle, flowing strokes are used in time with your breathing and music to promote relaxation, enhance circulation, relieve muscle pain and tension, improve flexibility and stimulate lymphatic flow to flush out toxins.

Deep Tissue Massage:

Experience the rejuvenating effects of a deep tissue massage.  Although somewhat more intense then a Swedish massage, it can still be quite relaxing. Moderate to firm pressure is applied to release the chronic patterns of tension in the body through slow strokes and deep finger pressure. These slow, deep movements are used to release muscles, aid in the reduction of scar tissue, and increase range of motion.

This type of massage is often used to treat chronic pain, limited mobility, recovery from injuries (e.g. whiplash, falls, sports injury), repetitive strain injury, such as carpal tunnel syndrome, postural problems, osteoarthritis pain, fibromyalgia, and muscle tension or spasms.

Sports Massage:

A special form of massage that is typically used before, during, and after athletic events. The purpose of this massage is to prepare the athlete for peak performance, to drain away fatigue, to relieve swelling, to reduce muscle tension, to promote flexibility and to prevent injuries.

Sports massage can help prevent those nagging injuries that so often get in the way of performance and achievement, whether the person is a hardcore athlete or a weekend warrior.

Pregnancy Massage:

A nurturing massage designed to help alleviate backaches, leg cramps, and ankle swelling that often accompanies pregnancy. This massage is usually given in the semi-reclining and side-lying position. The mom-to-be  is positioned with several props and pillows for her comfort.

Many of my prenatal clients come every week and declare that it helps them sleep soundly.

Hot Stone Massage:

Smooth basalt stones, ranging in size, are heated in water and then placed upon acupressure locations along the body in order to relax the muscles, and dissolve tension and stress. The direct weight and warmth of the stones generates an inner feeling of comfort while additional stones are employed to actually massage the muscles.

Reflexology:

This is an ancient method of healing both body and mind. Pressure point massage is applied to the soles of the feet to stimulate different areas of the body, working on energy lines to encourage the body’s natural healing system.
